Resumen
Urban models are an important tool for understanding the social distribution of the population in the inner city. Th ey were initially proposed for the Anglo-American cities and they had to be adjusted to the description of the spatial structure of Latin American cities. This paper analyzes the evolution that these models have had since 1925 to the present and focuses on the contributions made by Axel Borsdorf, who has developed a research program of high productivity and excellent results that support the strength of the state of the art in the subject.
