Trayectorias de abandono y permanencia en el Curso de Ingreso de la Universidad Nacional de Quilmes

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar las trayectorias estudiantiles de abandono y permanencia en el Curso de Ingreso de la Universidad Nacional de Quilmes. La investigación se desarrolló a partir de un trabajo cualitativo basado, por un lado, en entrevistas a una muestra intencional de estudiantes que abandonaron ese ciclo inicial y, por el otro lado, en encuestas a los estudiantes que cursaron hasta el tramo final del Curso de Ingreso, durante el primer cuatrimestre de 2012. Tomando como eje las nociones de trayectoria estudiantil y de oficio de estudiante se destacan los nudos de sentido que aparecen en los relatos de los estudiantes, indicando las dificultades extra-académicas que enfrentan, los modos en que se representan a sí mismos como sujetos de aprendizaje en la Educación Superior, las dificultades frente a los nuevos saberes y formas de conocerlos, especialmente en Matemática y Lengua, y, en definitiva, los modos en que construyen afiliaciones intelectuales e institucionales en su ingreso a la Universidad.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the students’ paths of abandonment and continuance in the Entrance Course of the National University of Quilmes. The research was conducted from a qualitative approach based, first, on interviews with a purposive sample of students who left this initial cycle and, on the other hand, on surveys to students who continued until the final period of the Entrance Course, during the first semester of 2012. Taking the notions of student’s path and student metier as analytical axis, we highlight the sense nodes that appear in the narrations of students, indicating the ways in which they represent themselves as subjects of learning in Higher Education, the difficulties facing new knowledge and ways of knowing, especially in Mathematics and Language, the non-academic difficulties faced, and, ultimately, the ways in which they construct intellectual and institutional affiliations in their entrance to the University.
