Indicios y raíces. Sobre Crímenes y jardines (2013) de Pablo De Santis

Abstract

Proponemos una lectura sobre los modos en que el género policial se presenta y representa en la novela Crímenes y jardines (2013) de Pablo De Santis. Para esto, planteamos cuatro ejes de discusión. En primer lugar, reparamos en algunos aspectos básicos, como la figura del detective y el sistema de indicios. Luego nos detenemos en el motivo de los jardines y sus vínculos específicos con el policial. En tercer término, avanzamos sobre algunas conceptualizaciones que aparecen en torno a lo familiar y su relación con el género policial. Finalmente, discutimos ciertos elementos en torno a la construcción de un verosímil realista pero que, al mismo tiempo, pueden ser pensados en estrecho vínculo con la configuración de una poética específica del género policial basada en un modelo artificioso y no realista.

I propose an interpretation based on the ways in which detective fiction is presented and represented in the novel Crímenes y jardines (2013) by Pablo De Santis. For this, I propose four lines of discussion. First, I look at some basic aspects, such as the figure of the detective and the system of clues. Then I analyze the motif of the gardens and their specific links with the detective fiction genre. Thirdly, I study some conceptualizations of the family that appear in the novel and its relation with detective fiction. Finally, I discuss certain elements about the construction of a realistic fiction that, at the same time, can be thought in close connection with a configuration of a specific poetics of the detective fiction genre but based on an artificial and non-realistic model.
