Nowadays, satellite images are a great source of exhaustive, accurate, periodic, and easily updated information on urban areas, and one of the most significant research topics in geographical information technologies is the processing of those sources to come up with these data. Advances in this topic were revitalized by commercial sensors of high spatial resolution (IKONOS, GeoEye-1, Quickbird, worldview-2, EROS B, etc.) and through the increased availability of sources from alternative data, such as SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) and LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging, or Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging)…
