La cuestión de la frontera y sus construcciones identitarias: Los visigodos en el largo siglo VII

Abstract

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo principal establecer el carácter de la frontera como formadora de identidades en el Reino Visigodo de Toledo, particularmente, durante el siglo VII. En este sentido, analizaremos la imagen del espacio de frontera en las fuentes narrativas y legales visigóticas pertenecientes a la Alta Edad Media e indagaremos, asimismo, acerca de la manera en que los autores del período utilizaban esta noción.

The aim of this article is to define the characteristics of the frontier as a shaper of identities in the Visigothic kingdom, particularly, during the seventh century. In this manner, I will analyse the image of the frontier offered by the Visigothic sources and I will enquire about the manner in which the writers of this period understood this notion.
