Las ideas políticas en el renacimiento: Maquiavelo, entre el absolutismo y el republicanismo

Abstract

El presente ensayo pretende una visión más general y global del autor renacentista, muchas veces circunscripta al absolutismo y hasta incluso como la del defensor de la tiranía. Sin embargo, el pensamiento del autor florentino es mucho más complejo. En este trabajo se hará una consideración genérica sobre el contexto y su obra para resaltar aspectos que no han sido suficientemente rescatados de su pensamiento, que en el imaginario colectivo ha quedado circunscripto a una idea estrecha y parcial de su obra El Príncipe, visto como el breviario de los tiranos. El presente ensayo intentará sacar a luz otras ideas que hacen del pensador florentino interesante de estudiar y reflexionar, indagando sobre sus ideas que giran en torno a dos conceptos opuestos: el absolutismo y el republicanismo.

This essay intends a broadest view over the Renaissance author, generally circumscribed to absolutism and even as the champion of tyranny. However, the thought of the Florentine author is much more complex. In this work, a general overview about the context and his works will be made in order to highlight aspects that have not been sufficiently recalled from his thought – recued to a narrow view of his work The Prince, seen as the breviary of tyrants. This essay will intend to bring other ideas to light, which make the Florentine author interested for study and reflection, in exploring his ideas revolving around two opposite concepts: absolutism and republicanism.
