Entre el Rojo y el Negro: derrotas y victorias de la literatura testimonial en Argentina

Abstract

La problemática central de los relatos testimoniales es la presencia hegemónica de u n sujeto en primera persona acosado por dos tensiones contradictorias: la voluntad de reconstruir una experiencia traumática y la voluntad de olvidar. Mientras que los testimonios publicados en Argentina desde 1983 hasta mediados de los años noventa aproximadamente, se iniciaban con la pregunta sobre la identidad de las víctimas de la represión como sujetos desaparecidos, las producciones testimoniales posteriores a la colección La voluntad de Anguita y Caparrós iluminan el lugar del sobreviviente en tanto militante. Este cambio en la pregunta plantea otro tema del debate del género testimonial: la presencia de los sujetos y sus derrotas.

The main feature in these testimonial stories is the hegemonic presence of a subject in the first person singular haunted by two highly strung contradictions: the will to reconstruct a traumatic experience and the will to forget it. While the testimonies published in Argentina from 1983 and until around the 1990s began with enquíries into che ídentity of the victims as missíng subjects during the military years, the testimonies appeared after the collection La voluntad de Anguita y Caparrós throw light on the survivors as activists. This shift brings along another topic for the discussion of the testimonial genre: the presence of the subjects and their defeats.
