Neurobiólogos-recolectores: rituales y saberes en la pesca de cangrejos

Abstract

Este trabajo presenta un análisis antropológico de la pesca orecolección de cangrejos que realizan los integrantes de un laboratorio deneurocientíficos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Este grupo de científicos seocupa de la búsqueda y el traslado de los animales no convencionales en suárea de estudios, con los que investigan y realizan experimentos. A partirde dos viajes de pesca y la lectura de los cuadernos en los que escribensobre aquellas experiencias se describen los saberes que los científicoscrean de los animales en sus ambientes, y las prácticas y ceremoniasritualizadas con los animales que no incluyen por escrito en los papers.Se trata de saberes y rituales que dan cuenta que esta instancia revisteuna centralidad considerable para la formación de comunidad del grupo.Comunidad científica que se cohesiona y celebra a sí misma fuera deámbitos académicos, en una actividad artesanal y práctica

The article presents an anthropological analysis of the fishing and recollection of crabs practiced by the members of a neuro-scientific lab in Buenos Aires. This group of scientists are in charge of collecting and carrying the animals of their researches, which are not conventional in their field of study, to the laboratory. Based on two trips and the notebooks where the experiences of fishing crabs are presented, it is described the scientists’ knowledge about the environment where crustaceans live, and the practices and ceremonies ritualized of this group with the animals that are not written down in the published papers. These knowledge and rituals show that the fishing of crabs is very important in the constitution of community of this group. A scientific community that unifies and celebrates itself outside the academic world, in a handmade and practical activity.
