¿Una estrategia económica alternativa entre los grandes industriales?

Abstract

Las elecciones internas en la UIA de 2017 pusieron de relieve una fractura entre los grandes industriales: mientras un sector brega por una mayor integración comercial con China, que permita ampliar las exportaciones de manufacturas de origen agropecuario, otro sector rechaza tal acercamiento que implicaría eliminar restricciones al ingreso de productos chinos. La primera estrategia es impulsada por la Coordinadora de Industrias de Productos Alimenticios, sobre la que profundizaremos en el presente artículo. La pregunta que nos guía es: ¿expresa COPAL una estrategia económica alternativa entre los grandes industriales? Para responderla nos abocaremos a reconstruir un tema inexplorado por la historiografía, los orígenes de la Coordinadora, en abril de 1975. Analizaremos el contexto en el que surgió, los capitales que la integraron, las razones que llevaron a su creación y sus posicionamientos en una coyuntura crítica: el ocaso del tercer gobierno peronista y el advenimiento del golpe militar.

The UIA's (Argentine Industrial Union)internal elections in 2017 have underscored a rupture between major industrialists: whereas one sector advocates for a greater trade integration with China, which would enable the expansion of agricultural manufacturing exports, another sector discourages such rapprochement, which would entail removing restrictions on the entry of Chinese products. The former strategy is promoted by the Coordination Committee of Food Industry, about which we will deepen in this paper. The question that guides us is: does COPAL represent an alternative economic strategy among major industrialists? In order to answer it, we will focus on reconstructing a topic which has not been explored by historiography, the origins of the Coordinating Committee, in April 1975. We will examine the context in which it emerged, the capitals that have participated in it, the reasons that have led to its creation and their positions within a critical juncture: the twilight of the third Peronist Government and the advent of the military coup.
