Resumen
Cabralia lavinai was recently described as a new rhytidosteid temnospondyl (Dias-da Silva et al., 2006) from the Sanga do Cabral Formation (Lower Triassic of Paraná Basin, Brazil). It has come to our attention that (Dias-da Silva et al., 2006) from the Sanga do Cabral Formation (Lower Triassic of Paraná Basin, Brazil). It has come to our attention that was recently described as a new rhytidosteid temnospondyl (Dias-da Silva et al., 2006) from the Sanga do Cabral Formation (Lower Triassic of Paraná Basin, Brazil). It has come to our attention that Cabralia is a junior homonym—this generic name was previously proposed for a butterfly (Lepidoptera, Ophiderinae) from Brazil (Moore, 1882). We propose the new generic name Sangaia for the new temnospondyl from Brazil, to replace Cabralia Dias-da-Silva et al., 2006, based on the name of the lithostratigraphic unit (Sanga do Cabral Formation) from where the specimen was recovered. name of the lithostratigraphic unit (Sanga do Cabral Formation) from where the specimen was recovered. from Brazil, to replace Cabralia Dias-da-Silva et al., 2006, based on the name of the lithostratigraphic unit (Sanga do Cabral Formation) from where the specimen was recovered. name of the lithostratigraphic unit (Sanga do Cabral Formation) from where the specimen was recovered. for a butterfly (Lepidoptera, Ophiderinae) from Brazil (Moore, 1882).
