Los orígenes del Partido Socialista Popular: ¿Entre el viejo socialismo y la "nueva izquierda"? (1972-1975)

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es reconstruir las principales características del Partido Socialista Popular (PSP), desde el punto de vista programático, al momento de su fundación. Sostendremos que el PSP sentó sus bases a partir de 1972 y que allí configuró algunos de sus rasgos estructurales. La hipótesis que guía este artículo es que, si bien el PSP se inscribió dentro de la tradición del Partido Socialista (PS) argentino, representó una forma original, crítica y peculiar del socialismo, tanto en términos organizativos como ideológicos. El PSP configuró su identidad en una relación confusa con el amplio campo de la “nueva izquierda” y el peronismo, en un diálogo conflictivo con otras expresiones y tradiciones políticas. El nacionalismo fue un rasgo constitutivo de su identidad inicial. El trabajo se iniciará con una breve reseña histórica del PS en la Argentina hasta la década de los setenta. En segundo término, nos abocaremos a indagar la fundación del PSP, teniendo en cuenta el contexto histórico de su surgimiento, sus principales lineamientos ideológicos y programáticos. Finalmente, mostraremos sus primeras iniciativas tras su conformación, en particular su relación con el peronismo.

The objective of this paper is to reconstruct the main features of the Popular Socialist Party (PSP) from a programmatic point of view at the time of its founding. We argue that the PSP sat bases since 1972 and there configured some of its structural features. The hypothesis guiding this paper is that while the PSP was entered in the tradition of Argentine Socialist Party (PS), this represented an original, peculiar, and critical form of socialism, and both organizational and ideological terms. The PSP configured her identity in a confused relationship with the broad field of the “new left” and Peronism, and in a conflictive dialogue with other political traditions. Nationalism was a constitutive feature of its original identity. This paper will begin with a brief historical review of the PS in Argentina until the 70s. Secondly, we will work to investigate the foundation of the PSP, considering the historical context of its emergence, and its main ideological and programmatic guidelines. Finally, we show the first initiatives of PSP after its formation, in particular its relationship with Peronism.
