Lingüística generativa y evidencia empírica

Abstract

La lingüística generativa es una de las teorías del lenguaje más difundidas y prestigiosas. Su creador, Noam Chomsky, es quizá el lingüista más reconocido de la historia. Aquí intentaré mostrar que, sin embargo, una de sus hipótesis fundamentales no es una hipótesis empírica y que otras dos hipótesis no menos fundamentales son incompatibles con la evidencia lingüística y con la evidencia neurológica.

Generative linguistics is one the most widespread and prestigious theories of language. Its creator, Noam Chomsky, is possibly the most recognized linguist in History. In this work, I aim at showing that, however, one fundamental generative hypothesis cannot be considered empirical, and that two other hypotheses (which are not less fundamental than the first one) are incompatible with linguistic or neurological evidence.
