Lo político en el arte. Un aporte desde la teoría de Jacques Rancière

Abstract

En este artículo se propone realizar un aporte al campo de los estudios sociopolíticos del arte, a partir de una revisión crítica de la propuesta de Jacques Rancière. La teoría sobre la estética de este autor ha renovado –junto con las propuestas de otros teóricos– la mirada moderna sobre la relaciónentre arte y política, planteando lo político en el arte desde una lectura que no se reduce al tema de la obra. Se pretende no sólo una revisión descriptiva de los contenidos y argumentos de Rancière,sino también atender a debilidades y fortalezas de sus planteos. Así, el análisis expuesto, será productivopara el desarrollo de futuras investigaciones dirigidas al estudio de casos de artistas y grupos de artistas de diverso origen y temporalidad, en un marco de análisis que amplíen los horizontes actuales y vislumbren la potencia del arte para intervenir en la transformación del orden social.

In this paper we propose to make a contribution to the field of sociopolitical studies of art, based on a critical review of Jacques Rancière’s proposal. The theory of the aesthetics of this author has renewed –along with the proposals of other theoreticians– the modern view of the relationship between art and politics, raising the political in art from a reading that is not confined to the subject of the work. It is intended not only a descriptive review of the contents and arguments of Rancière, but also to see the weaknesses and strengths of his proposals. Thus, once the analysis exposed, it will be productive for the development of future research aimed at the study of artists and groups of artists of different origin and temporality, which expand the current horizons and glimpse the power of art to intervene in the transformation of the social order.
