La construcción y legitimación sociocultural de la hegemonía menemista. Discurso de sentido común y eficacia interpelativa dialéctica

Abstract

Este trabajo realiza un análisis interpretativo de la construcción y legitimación político-cultural de la hegemonía menemista, estudiando el impacto de los valores neoliberales asumidos por el discurso de Menem a nivel societal. El objetivo general consiste en elucidar parte del éxito que adquirió la hegemonía menemista en los años ´90 para realizar una transformación cultural. Para ello, en una primera etapa, se analizan las prácticas sedimentadas y las modalidades de identificación que contribuyeron al éxito de la nueva hegemonía, en el marco de un determinado discurso que les otorgaba significación. En una segunda parte, se analiza la relación específica que se produjo entre la hegemonía menemista y el discurso de Menem, examinando las formas de identificación imaginarias que se instituyeron a nivel societal, a partir de las estrategias discursivas del Presidente durante su primer período de gobierno. Por último, se analiza la articulación dialéctica que se estableció entre el discurso presidencial, las prácticas sedimentadas, lo que se define como el núcleo medular de la hegemonía y su propio liderazgo político.

This paper analyzes the political-cultural construction and legitimizing of Menemist hegemony, studying the impact of neoliberal values adopted by Menem’s discourse at the societal level. The overall goal is to elucidate part of the success that the Menemist hegemony acquired in the 1990s in carrying out a cultural transformation. The first step analyzes the established practices and modalities of identification that contributed to the success of the new hegemony within the framework of a certain discourse that gave these practices meaning. In the second part, the specific relationship between Menemist hegemony and the discourse of Menem is analyzed, examining the forms of imaginary identification instituted at the societal level, based on the discursive strategies of the President during his first period of government. Finally, the dialectic relationship established between presidential discourse and the established practices is analyzed, defined as the central nucleus of the hegemony and its political leadership.
