Entre el globo y el alambre de púas: la dimensión subjetiva de la lectura en América Latina

Abstract

La lectura de los niños en América Latina se encuentra en un entramado de datos cuantitativos. Uno de los problemas claves en la región es el bajo desempeño en las evaluaciones internacionales. Motivados por la siguiente pregunta: ¿será posible que la educación conjugue las premisas de la obligación y de la imaginación? Nos ocuparemos de revisar las estadísticas para establecer relaciones con una experiencia etnográfica. De esta forma, revisaremos las luces que quedan invisibilizadas en los test de lectura comprensiva. La metáfora del título guiará el escrito por el laberinto de problemáticas.

Children's reading in Latin America lies in a framework of quantitative data. One of the key problems is the region's low performance in international evaluations. Motivated by the following question: Is it possible that education combines the premises of obligation and imagination? We will review the statistics to unveil relationships with an ethnographic experience. This is how we will review the lights that remain invisible in the reading comprehension tests. The metaphor of the title will guide the writing through this maze of problems.
