El Consejo Latinoamericano de Iglesias y el encuentro ecuménico latinoamericano de "Mauricio López" (1988)

Abstract

El artículo estudia al Encuentro Ecuménico Latinoamericano “Mauricio López” como punto de cristalización de un subgrupo al interior de la red ecuménica latinoamericana. Este subgrupo al que perteneció Mauricio López, reúne a integrantes de Ecuador, Argentina y Brasil. Dichareunión se realizó en Quito, en 1988 y lleva el nombre de un militante ecuménico desaparecido en 1977, en Argentina. En tanto que las conclusiones fueron publicadas en portugués. Para reconstruir a los miembros del subgrupo, primero se analizó la trayectoria de militancia de Mauricio López; luego el Consejo Latinoamericano de Iglesias (CLAI), que fue la entidad organizadora del encuentro. El apartado siguiente se detiene en las organizaciones participantes del encuentro. Posteriormente, utilizando como base el documento elaborado por los participantes de la reunión, se describió el escenario latinoamericano de la red ecuménica a fi nes de la década de 1980. Finalmente se analiza la razón de la nominación “Mauricio López” al encuentro ecuménico latinoamericano.

The article examines the Latin American ecumenical conference “Mauricio Lopez”. This conference was a crystallization point of a subgroup with in the American ecumenical network. Mauricio Lopez belonged to this subgroup, which brings together members of Ecuador, Argentina and Brazil. This meeting was held in Quito in 1988 and is named for a militant ecumenical disappeared in 1977 in Argentina, while the conference’s conclusions were published in Portuguese. To rebuild the members of the subgroup, fi rst was analyzed the trajectory of militancy of Mauricio Lopez, then the Latin American Council of Churches (CLAI), who was the organizer of the meeting. The next section studies at the organizations participating in the meeting. Subsequently, using as source the document prepared by the participants of the meeting, was described the Latin American ecumenical networkin the late 1980s. Finally we analyze the reasons for the nomination Lopez at Latin American ecumenical meeting.
