Escribir en la Escuela de Mecánica de la Armada: Dimensión testimonial y premonitoria de la poesía de Ana María Ponce

Abstract

Este artículo propone un acercamiento a la poesía testimonial compuesta en excentros clandestinos de detención durante la última dictadura argentina. Elegimos los poemas de Ana María Ponce, escritos en la Escuela de Mecánica de la Armada (ESMA), por ser los únicos que salieron de este lugar y por brindarnos una mirada inédita sobre esa parte de la historia, por un lado, y, por otro lado, sobre las sensaciones de una persona secuestrada-desaparecida. Analizaremos, pues, la dimensión testimonial y premonitoria de su poesía: testimonial en tanto huella poética de la autora, del lugar y del contexto histórico; y premonitoria en la medida en que anticipa detalles de las luchas libradas y de los crímenes de lesa humanidad, así como sus consecuencias en la sociedad.

Th is article off ers an overview of the testimonial poetry that was composed in formal clandestine detention centers during the last Argentine dictatorship. We decided to study poems by Ana Maria Ponce, which she wrote while kept at the School of Marine Mechanics (ESMA), because they are the only ones to ever have come out of this place–therefore they contain a unique perspective on this part of history and on the feelings of a kidnapped and sequestered individual. Consequently, we will analyze the testimonial and prophetic dimensions of her poetry: testimonial as it constitutes the author’s poetic imprint, as well as the place’s and historical context’s, and prophetic as she anticipates certain details of the fi ght led by human rights and crime against humanity organizations and their consequences on society.
