Normatividad y Evolución Social. Las lógicas del desarrollo histórico como fundamento de la crítica

Abstract

El objetivo del presente trabajo es presentar y discutir algunas de las ideas que Amy Allen desarrolla en su reciente trabajo The End of Progress. Sin embargo,la discusión de esta obra es también una buena razón para discutir un conjunto de argumentos que se vienen esgrimiendo contra las últimas generaciones de la Escuela de Frankfurt, así como contra otros pensadores provenientes delmarxismo. Según la perspectiva de Allen, la tradición de teoría socialdesarrollada por esta corriente permanece atada, al momento de fundamentarsu punto de vista crítico, de cierta visión eurocentrista de la historia. En este artículo se procura indicar, primero, que debe prestarse específica atención al tipo de empresa intelectual que caracteriza los esfuerzos teóricos de Habermas y Honneth y así deben diferenciarse las discusiones históricas de las normativas.Luego, que si se sigue cierta metodología propia del marxismo hegeliano deFrankfurt y se presta atención a los reclamos normativos de los movimientossociales que tienen lugar en la esfera pública de muchos de nuestros países loque está en el centro de sus reclamos normativos son derechos de tipo moderno

The aim of this paper is to present and discuss some of the ideas that Amy Allen develops in her recent book The End of Progress. However, the discussion of this book is also a good reason to discuss a set of arguments that are being used against the last generations of the Frankfurt School, as well as against other thinkers from Marxism. According to Allen's perspective, the tradition of social theory developed by this current remains tied, at the moment of grounding its critical point of view of a certain Eurocentric vision of history. In this article we try to indicate, first, that specific attention should be given to the type of intellectual enterprise that characterizes the theoretical efforts of Habermas and Honneth and thus the historical discussions should be differentiated from the normative ones. Then, if you follow a certain methodology of the Hegelian Marxism of Frankfurt and pay attention to the normative claims of the social movements that take place in the public sphere of many of our countries what is at the center of their normative claims are rights of modern type.
