Recepción de Juan Samaja de la noción "salud", de Georges Canguilhem

Abstract

El presente trabajo reconstruye, con intenciones críticas, la recepción del pensamiento de G. Canguilhem por parte del epistemólogo argentino J. Samaja. Nuestra hipótesis es que Samaja recibe el concepto de "salud" de Canguilhem desde la perspectiva que éste está tratando de desmontar: el biologismo positivista productor de una ley que sirve como criterio de demarcación de la salud y la enfermedad dentro de las ciencias biomédicas. Mientras el francés concibe la «salud» como la mantención del viviente dentro de una norma dinámica creada por él mismo, el argentino sostiene que la salud no puede depender de una norma con procedencia biológica: las normas de salud, de por sí humanas —culturales—, no responden a criterios biológicos para su establecimiento. Ésta separación entre cultura y natura asumida por Samaja lo mantiene dentro del esquema no sólo positivista, sino también occidental, aristotélico, hegeliano, etc., que rechaza la raigambre vital de la existencia cultural humana, y por ende, de las normas por las cuales se define el estado de salud del viviente hombre.

This paper critically reconstructs the reception of G. Camguilhem’s thought by the Argentinean epistemologist J. Samaja. Our hypothesis is that Samaja receives Canguilhem’s "health" concept from the perspective that he is trying to dismantle: the biologicist positivism as producer of a law that serves as a criterion of demarcation in the biomedical sciences between health and disease. While the French conceived «health» as the maintenance of a living man within a dynamic standard created by itself, the Argentinean claims that health can not depend on a rule with a biologicist origin: health standards, in itself human —cultural—, do not respond to biological criteria for listing. This separation between cultura and natura assumed by Samaja keeps him within the schema of positivism, as well as of a western, Aristotelian, Hegelian, etc. ones, which rejects the vital roots of human cultural existence, and therefore within the rules that define the health of the living man.
