La recepción temprana de Foucault en Argentina : de los '50 a la radicalización política

Abstract

En 1970, en el registro de su trabajo como receptor del estructuralismo, el filósofo argentino José Sazbón organizaba desde el anonimato "Análisis de Michel Foucault", seleccionando y traduciendo del francés una serie de textos para la editorial Tiempo Contemporáneo. No obstante, la presencia de Foucault en el campo político, cultural e intelectual argentino se manifiesta tiempo antes, entre las citas de fines de los años ´50 y la publicación local de su primer libro. Seguir esas huellas es excusa y ocasión para dar cuenta de inscripciones que tendrán continuidad en los años por venir. De un lado, algunos primeros usos en relación con la psicología y el psicoanálisis. Del otro, la circulación temprana y más general de Foucault en la Argentina de los años 1960-1970, arrinconada por su inscripción en el estructuralismo. Aceptadas y criticadas, entonces, las elaboraciones foucaultianas calan ya en aquellos años en ámbitos que van de la psicología a la filosofía.

In 1970 and in anonymity, the Argentinean philosopher José Sazbón put together Análisis de Michel Foucault as part of his structuralism’s work. He selected and translated a series of texts for the publishing house Tiempo Contemporáneo. However, Foucault’s presence within Argentina’s political, cultural and intellectual fields was demonstrated even before by the quotations at the end of the ’50s and the local publication of his first book. Following these traces is the excuse and the opportunity to analyze inscriptions that will continue over the years to follow. On one hand, some first uses in relation with psychology and psychoanalysis appeared. On the other hand, cornered by Foucault’s inscription within the structuralism, an early and more general circulation of his work started in Argentina during the years 1960-1970. Accepted and criticized, Foucault’s elaborations influenced during those years fields that went from psychology to philosophy.
