Memorias, imágenes, restos. Hacia un tratamiento ético y político del archivo

Abstract

El siguiente trabajo se desprende de algunas preguntas que venimos abordando en torno a la relación entre política y psicoanálisis para reflexionar acerca del pasado reciente en sus implicancias políticas y subjetivas. En este marco es que adquiere particular relevancia la pregunta por qué tratamientos se vuelven posibles para analizar aquellos dispositivos que adquieren un estatuto testimonial en el relato histórico, político e incluso patrimonial. Nos referimos específicamente a una fuente recientemente encontrada y aún poco explorada y sistematizada en los estudios sobre las memorias de la última dictadura argentina. Se trata de un acervo documental compuesto por fotografías de hombres, mujeres y niños/as registrados durante su detención en dependencias policiales, desde principios de los sesenta a fines de los ochenta, durante el terrorismo de Estado en Argentina. Pensar las imágenes como soporte testimonial de experiencias traumáticas, nos lleva no sólo a preguntar por sus sentidos posibles, sino por el contrario, por aquello que, en tanto marca o huella de un horror, vuelve imposible su significación. Es en aquello que estas fuentes archivísticas logran y no logran significar plenamente, en su límite y posibilidad por representar, en lo que allí resta, donde se abre la pregunta por una ética de su tratamiento y una política del archivo. Consideramos que esta apuesta permite abrir una pregunta ineludible sobre la posición del investigador en el campo de los estudios sobre la memoria y los derechos humanos.

The following articule emerges from some questions about the relationship between politics and psychoanalysis to reflect the political and subjective implications on the recent past. In this context, it becomes relevant the question about posible treatments to analyze those devices that acquire a testimonial status in the historical, political and even patrimonial narrative. We refer specifically to a source recently found and still little explored and systematized in the studies on the memories of the last Argentine dictatorship. It is a collection of documents made up of photographs of men, women and children registered during their detention in police stations, from the beginning of the sixties to the end of the eighties, during state terrorism in Argentina. Thinking images as testimonial support of traumatic experiences leads us not only to ask about their possible senses, but on the contrary, for what, as a mark or trace of a horror, turns its meaning impossible. It is in what these archival sources achieve, in their limit and possibility to represent and signify, where the question is opened for an ethics of its treatment and a policy of archiving. We believe that this approach opens an inescapable question about the researcher's position in the field of memory and human rights studies.
