Política y periodismo: el caso del periódico socialista "Germinal" (Tandil, 1929-1946)

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza la participación en el espacio público del político socialista tandilense Juan Nigro. Representante por excelencia del socialismo de esa ciudad en la década de 1930, aquí se analiza las tensiones que generaron en su persona el ejercicio paralelo de la política y del periodismo. Para observar como resolvió la conjunción de los roles de director del vocero local del Partido Socialista, y de propietario del mismo medio (el periódico “Germinal”), se estudia las opiniones de los responsables del medio sobre las funciones de la prensa política, al igual que las características del periódico.

This paper analyzes the participation in the public space of Juan Nigro, a socialist politician from Tandil. Representative par excellence of the socialism of that city in the 1930s, here he analyzes the tensions generated in his person by the parallel exercise of politics and journalism. To observe how it resolved the conjunction of the roles of director of the local spokesman of the Socialist Party, and owner of the newspaper "Germinal", the opinions of those responsible for the media on the functions of the political press are studied, as well as the characteristics of the newspaper.
