A new species of the land snail genus Solaropsis Beck, 1837, from Bolivia (Helicoidea: Camaenidae)

Abstract

A new species from Bolivia of the Neotropical land snail genus Solaropsis is described and illustrated using characters of shell, reproductive, palleal and digestive systems. The new species is compared in detail with species of the genus with known anatomy. Solaropsis chicomendesi sp. nov. is distinguished on the basis of its shell aperture, sculpture and anatomical characters mainly those of the penial complex in the reproductive system.
