Leer el tiempo: memorias fotográficas de la crisis argentina de 2001

Abstract

El artículo indaga, en los cruces entre arte y política, en la fotografía artística reciente, tomando como punto de inflexión la crisis argentina de 2001. Este estallido políticosocial ha marcado uno de los momentos sociales más convulsionados de los últimos años, por lo que numerosos artistas fotógrafos han retratado en sus producciones los espacios urbanos atravesados por el malestar social. Entre estas expresiones artísticas se encuentra la serie Leer el tiempo de Hugo Aveta, donde las fotografías atraviesan algunos dispositivos visuales antes de configurarse como imágenes de la crisis. Se trata de obras que, a la vez que se proponen un suelo de intercambio entre arte y política, se vuelven complejas memorias fotográficas que tensionan el estatuto mismo de la fotografía en relación a la historia y a lo documental.

The article investigates, in the interchange between art and politics, in the recent artistic photography, taking as a point of inflection the 2001 Argentine crisis. This social-political explosion has marked one of the most convulsive social moments of the last years, so many photographers artists have portrayed in their productions urban spaces crossed by social unrest. Among these artistic expressions is the series Read the time by Hugo Aveta, where photographs pass through some visual devices before configuring it selves as images of the crisis. These are works that, while proposing a ground exchange between art and politics, become complex photographic memories that stress the very statute of photography in relation to history and to documentary.
