El atentado a la Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina y la “pista siria”: construcción de un imaginario del terrorismo (1994-2007)

Abstract

El presente trabajo se propone examinar la visión existente sobre el atentado a la Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina del año 1994 que involucra a la República Árabe de Siria, analizando las investigaciones periodísticas que se han publicado hasta el año 2007. Existen dos visiones principales respecto a las responsabilidades locales e internacionales con relación al ataque: una versión que implica al partido libanés Hezbollah junto con la República Islámica de Irán; y otra que involucra a Siria. Cada una de ellas es sostenida y defendida por diferentes sectores. Aquí trabajaremos con aquellas que denuncian como autores a la República Árabe Siria y al grupo libanés Hezbollah.

This paper reviews prior mass media and journalistic research data, about the clues of the bombing against Argentine Israelite Mutual Association in Buenos Aires (1994). There are two main positions regarding domestic and international responsibilities in relation to this attack. The first one points out Lebanese Hezbollah Party with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The second one involves the Syrian Arab Republic. Each view is supported and defended by different sectors. The starting point of the current article analyzes the second authorship hypothesis of the attack which involves the Arab Sirian Republic, supported by different states, the media, think thanks and scholars.
