Un diálogo apócrifo de Platón: Yves o Sbre la cibercultura

Abstract

Se recrea aquí una conversación socrática sobre las bondades y perjuicios de la cibercultura, con obvias evocaciones de la discusión sobre oralidad y escritura del mito de Teuth y Thamus hacia el final del Fedro de Platón. Así, primero, presenciamos el encuentro entre Sócrates y Fedro, un fan incondicional de la cibernética, en un locus amoenus situado en los Champs Elysées de París en época estival. Luego, asistimos a la rememoración de Sócrates de su charla con el catedrático en comunicaciones Yves, tras refugiarse en un café internet de evanescentes imágenes durante una neblinosa y fría jornada londinense.

Here I intend a recreation of a Socratic conversation about the benefits and harms of cyberculture in which echoes of the discussion on oral and written speech in Plato´s myth about Teuth and Thamus at the end of his Phaedrus can easily be recognized. Thus, firstly, an encounter between Socrates and Phaedrus, a true fan of cyberculture, is portrayed in the Champs Elysées in Paris which works as a locus amoenus. Afterwards, Socrates evokes a talk which he held with Yves, a French scholar on Communications, when he entered into a Cyber-café in a foggy, cold day in London town and met this old friend of his.
