El rapsoda plebeyo de la pampa

Abstract

Cuando se inicia el estudio de la producción de Eduardo Gutiérrez se arriba inmediatamente a una constatación sintomática: Gutiérrez ha sido posicionado en el lugar del escritor marginal, ubicación a la que accede por distintos factores atribuidos, que basculan entre el papel de mercader de la literatura y/o el folletinista de estilo descuidado. Como complemento, debe destacarse que dicha marginalidad se ha instaurado gracias a una “historia de lecturas” de sus textos, en cuyo derrotero las historias de la literatura argentina desempeñaron un papel relevante. Las consideraciones de estas historias literarias, verdaderos mapas de lectura de la literatura argentina, contribuyeron a indicar posicionamientos para el autor, vinculaciones con sus contemporáneos del 80 e incluso diseñaron proyecciones de sus textos en la literatura posterior. A su vez, en esta topografía demarcaron, de manera subliminal, concepciones de la literatura popular al analizar los folletines de Gutiérrez, imágenes de autor para abordarlo como escritor y con todo ello tramaron, en definitiva, la genealogía de lecturas a la que hacíamos alusión. Es nuestro propósito en este trabajo analizar un eslabón en esta historia de lecturas, el recogido por la Historia de la literatura argentina. Ensayo filosófico sobre la evolución de la cultura en el Plata, de Ricardo Rojas (1917-1922), mediante un recorte que priorizará las observaciones pioneras sobre la literatura popular y las figuras de autor gestadas por Rojas en torno a Gutiérrez.

When one begins the study of the production of Eduardo Gutiérrez is arrived immediately to a symptomatic establishment: Gutiérrez has been positioned in the place of the marginal writer, location to which accedes by different attributed factors, that tilt between the paper of merchant of literature and/or the author of serial of style neglected. As complement, must stand out that this marginality has been restored thanks to a “history of readings” of its texts, in whose map course histories of argentine literature played a role excellent. The considerations of these literary histories, true maps of reading of argentine literature, contributed to indicate positionings for the author, entailments with their contemporaries of the 80 and they even designed projections of its texts in later literature. As well, in this topography they demarcated, of subliminal way, conceptions of popular literature when analyzing serials of Gutiérrez, images of author to approach it as writer and it plotted yet, really, the genealogy of readings to which we made reference. It is our intention in this work to analyze a link in this history of readings, the gathered one by the Historia de la literatura argentina. Ensayo filosófico sobre la evolución de la cultura en el Plata, of Ricardo Rojas (1917-1922), by means of a cut that will prioritize the pioneering observations on popular literature and the figures of author developed by Rojas around Gutiérrez.
