Entre la politicidad de la fortuna y el destino de la revolución: Ante el fin (anticipado) del momento maquiaveliano

Abstract

Este trabajo persigue el recorrido de tres figuras nodales dentro de la obra del filósofo Maurice Merleau-Ponty: fortuna, adversidad y destino. Su convergencia y sus disonancias anidan detrás de las potentes reflexiones maquiavelianas desplegadas por Merleau-Ponty en torno al decurso de las revoluciones modernas y a su promesa humanista. En el camino nos topamos con una serie de escritos ruso-soviéticos que ponían en cuestión, sin recostarse en ningún liberalismo, el lazo entre el humanismo y el terror o las aventuras de la dialéctica. En consecuencia, nuestro artículo abre una discusión con ciertos rasgos del “momento maquiaveliano” (anticipados en Merleau-Ponty, es decir, antes de su consolidación de los años ‘70) a partir de algunas obras que provienen del interior de los otrora regímenes comunistas, sobre todo, de una en particular: Vida y destino de Vasili Grossman. Allí se trasluce otra experiencia en torno a la fortuna, la adversidad y el destino. En fin, comenzamos cotejando las figuras desde Merleau-Ponty y acabamos contrastando sus modos paradójicos de aparición desde otra politicidad, que acaso socave los sentidos de aquellos que, por ejemplo, pretenden recrear lo político anudando a Maquiavelo con Marx. This article follows the course of three nodal figures within Maurice Merleau-Ponty's work: fortune, adversity, and fate. Their convergence and dissonances can be traced to the powerful Machiavellian reflections developed by Merleau-Ponty in relation to the course of the modern revolutions and their humanist promise. In our path we find a series of Russian Soviet writings which questioned the link between humanism and terror (or the adventures of the dialectics) without a liberal background. This article opens then a debate concerning certain aspects of the "Machiavellian moment" (anticipated by Merleau-Ponty before its consolidation in the 70s) taking some texts written within the communist regimes, especially: Vasili Grossman's Life and Fate. A different experience concerning fortune, adversity, and fate is there recognizeable. We start then dealing with these figures from the perspective of Merleau-Ponty and we then contrast them with another political character, that may undermine the senses of those that i.e. pretend to recreate the political by means of bonding Machiavelli to Marx.
