Cómo no hablar de Dios : alcances de una lectura materialista de las concepciones hobbesianas de lo divino

Abstract

O texto pretende pesquisar diferentes concepções de Deus, na obra de Thomas Hobbes. Em particular, propõe-se pensar, desde uma leitura materialista, o entrecruzamento entre a corporeidade e a nomeação de uma política cristã, cujo cumprimento só seria possível num reino futuro na terra, o "reino de Deus" para vir (numa obra cujo clímax será, talvez, a alegada corporeidade de Deus). Essa escatologia hobbesiana define uma determinada posição cética contra a teologia, que, dado o Deus incognoscível, é vinculada a uma função específica da linguagem, o papel da honra, e a essas palavras e proposições que -para cada sujeito, em primeiro lugar, e numa sociedade dada, mais tarde- são inerentes a ela.

The text intends to analyse diferent conceptions of God, in the work of Thomas Hobbes. In particular, and from a materialistic reading, it studies the intersection between corporeality and the nomination of a Christian policy, whose fulflment would only be possible in a future kingdom on earth, the “kingdom of God” to come (in a work which climax, perhaps, is the alleged embodiment of God). This Hobbesian eschatology defnes a certain sceptical position against the theology, which, given the unknowable God, is bound up with a specifc function of language, that of honour, and with those words and propositions which - for each subject frst, and for the whole Society, later- are inherent to it.
