Vanguardia y revolución como ideas-fuerza en el arte argentino de los años sesenta

Abstract

Se trata de una contribución dentro de un número especial de la revista, titulado "Búsquedas (anti)estéticas y compromiso político y social del arte en Argentina en los siglos XX y XXI" editada por la investigadora polaca Katarzyna Cytlak. El artículo sintetiza los modos en que dos ideas-fuerza, "vanguardia" y "revolución", funcionaron como motores articuladores de una serie de iniciativas de la vanguardia artística argentina, muy heterogéneas entre sí, en medio de una época de abruptas transformaciones, los años sesenta-setenta, atravesada por fuertes expectativas de transformación social percibida como inminente e inevitable.

The purpose of this work is to indicate the ways in which art and left-wing politics expressed themselves duirng the “long decade”. Avant-garde and revolution worked then as the art main thrust. The extensive repertoire of artistic manifestations reveals that from the encounter of these two concepts diverse and somtimes opposing poetics and artisitc-political programmes arised. The metaphors, although most dissimilar, overlap and mix up with each other in the same subjects in a vertiginous way. In spite of their diversity, they are united by the common understanding of the art as being capable of infl uencing the human life. There are plentiful of war metaphors: the art is perceived as activating and detonating power. The text proposes possible interpretations of the links between the art and the politics in the period of time investigated.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest pokazanie, w jaki sposób sztuka i polityka lewicowa wyrażały się w czasie tzw. “długiej dekady”. Awangarda i rewolucja stały się wówczas głównymi ideami świata sztuki. Na podstawie szerokiego repertuaru działalności artystycznych można dojść do wniosku, że z połączenia tych dwóch konceptów narodziły się przeróżne, czasem zupełnie sprzeczne poetyki i programy artystyczno-polityczne. Metafory, choć najbardziej rozbieżne, nakładają się i przenikają w obrębie tych samych tematów w tempie przyprawiającym o zawrót głowy. Mimo iż są tak różne od siebie, tym co je łączy jest przekonanie o doniosłej roli sztuki jako siły wpływającej na jakość ludzkiego życia. Wiele z nich to metafory wojenne: postrzegające sztukę jako siłę sprawczą, jako detonator przemian społecznych. Tekst prezentuje możliwe interpretacje powiązań pomiędzy sztuką a polityką w tamtym okresie.
