Resumen
Blends composed of diaminodiphenylmethane bisphenol‐A epoxy resin and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) were prepared via in situ curing reaction of epoxy in the presence of PEO. The miscibility of the blends before and after curing was established by thermal (differential scanning calorimetry, DSC), microstructural (atomic force microscopy) and dynamic mechanical analysis. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy indicated that the OH groups developed through cure reactions interact by hydrogen bonding with PEO. After crystallinity analysis by DSC, the interaction parameter was determined through the depression of the equilibrium melting temperature. Mechanical properties of the miscible blends do not show any significant change, although improvement of fracture toughness has been observed with respect to the matrix properties.
