Novelas decimonónicas en el margen: Una revisión desde la poética histórica

Abstract

La poética histórica estudia el carácter histórico de la estructura o forma literaria, o sea, el proceso histórico-literario de elaboración social de las normas que determinan los rasgos peculiares de una obra literaria y hacen posible su creación y su recepción. Desde este enfoque analizamos la forma "novela" según circula en el sistema literario argentino del siglo XIX, teniendo en cuenta metatextos y novelas. Proponemos una periodización en cuatro etapas: la constitución del género novela (1838-1872), la revolución silenciosa (1872-1879), la ruptura explícita (década de 1880) y la estabilización (a partir de 1890).

Historical Poetics studies the historical nature of the structure or form of literature, or rather, the historical-literary process towards the creation of social regulations which determine the peculiar features of a literary work thus making its creation and reception possible. This is the approach from which we analyse the «novel» form, according to its circulation in the Argentinian literary system in the 19th century, considering metatexts and novels. We suggest setting four different stages: the Creation of the «novel» genre (1838-1872), the Silent Revolution (1872-1879), the Explict Breakup (1880s) and the Period of Stabilization (as of 1890).
