Movimientos de liberación homosexual en América Latina. Aportes historiográficos desde una perspectiva comparada entre Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia y México (1967-1982)

Abstract

Entre 1967-1982 se extendieron en América Latina movimientos nominados de liberación homosexual que buscaron unificar las estrategias por la revolución social y sexual. En base a una investigación previa del caso argentino del Frente de Liberación Homosexual (FLH), el artículo propone un estudio comparado con Brasil, Chile, Colombia y México para repensar las periodizaciones, similitudes y diferencias de los distintos movimientos considerados. El objetivo principal es ofrecer variables de explicación distintas a aquellas que se centran en la proyección de la revuelta de Stonewall en la región, basadas en la relación de estos movimientos con la izquierda radical local y con los respectivos Estados.

Between 1967 and 1982, homosexual liberation movements emerged in Latin America that sought to unify strategies of social and sexual revolution. This article proposes a comparative study to rethink the periodization of the distinct selection of cases and analyze the similarities and differences between them. For this, the cases of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico are discussed. The purpose of this paper is to find a different explanation for these movements that avoids viewing them as just a projection of the Stonewall uprising (1969), thereby bringing forward an explanatory variable from within Latin America. In turn, the respective relationships of these movements with the local radical Left and the State are also considered.
