Semiótica de la cultura y retórica del cuerpo: puentes disciplinares desde/sobre América Latina

Abstract

En este trabajo, reflexionamos sobre la labor de Iuri Lotman y sus postulados sobre una semiótica de la cultura, pues consideramos que resultan válidos para estudiar textos / culturas que reconstruyen la frontera indígena / occidental en América Latina. A su vez, atendemos la posibilidad de incluir al cuerpo como sistema modelizante que participa en la construcción de sentidos junto con la lengua (o idioma) y los textos complejos de las culturas. Para ello,consideramos actuales lecturas de los postulados lotmanianos (fundamentalmente, la de Katya Mandoki y Silvia Barei), que nos permiten hipotetizar sobre una perspectiva retórica para pensar la relación cuerpo/cultura. Con respecto a la frontera indígena/occidental, indagamos textos editados en el contexto del Vº Centenario del llamado «descubrimiento de América» que nos permite reconocer una zona tensiva que construyó de manera dispar los sucesos de 1492, actualizándolos en relación con 1992 y evidenciando la filigrana compleja de la memoria Cultural. La pregunta central que nos guía es de qué manera una semiótica de la cultura y susderivaciones más actuales hacia una retórica del cuerpo pueden servir para reflexionar sobre las tensiones culturales latinoamericanas discutidas en 1992.

In this paper we seek to reflect on Yuri Lotman’ theory and his ideas on a Semiotics of culture because we believe that they are valid to study texts / indigenous cultures in Latin America. Besides we think about including the body as a modeling system that participates in the construction of meaning together with language as well as the complex texts of cultures. To do this, we consider the current readings of Lotmanianpostulates (mainly the work of Katya Mandoki and Silvia Barei) that allow us to hypothesize about a rhetorical perspective to think about the body / culture relationship. In connection with the indigenous / western border, we studied texts published in the context of the Vº Centenary of the so-called "Discovery of America" that allow us to recognize a tensive scenario on which the events of 1492 were unevenly constructed, updating them in relation to 1992 and highlighting the complex filigree of cultural memory. The central question that guides us is how a semiotics of culture and its latest branches that lead to a rhetoric of the body can serve to reflect on the Latin American cultural tensions discussed in 1992.
