Integración social y nueva ruralidad: Ser ¿“hippie”? En el campo

Abstract

Desde hace casi una década, las localidades rurales del Valle de Traslasierra, al oeste de la provincia de Córdoba (Argentina) se han convertido en escenario de recepción de una migración de jóvenes neorrurales cuya razón para trasladarse se debe a un determinante psicosocial: una “disposición al cambio” en busca de alternativas de vida frente al modelo de la ciudad. Estos son etiquetados por la sociedad receptora con el nombre de “hippies”. En el marco de una investigación de base etnográfica que tiene por objeto las relaciones sociales en comunidades rurales impactadas por la migración urbana, y de acuerdo con un enfoque cultural y social, proponemos reflexionar acerca de las lógicas que llevan a inmigrantes urbanos y “lugareños” que conviven en un mismo territorio a identificarse, etiquetarse y clasificarse, así como las consecuencias de estas lógicas en la organización comunitaria.

For almost a decade now, rural sites in the Valle de Traslasierra, in the western area of the province of Córdoba, Argentina, have become the dock that receives a migration of neorural youngsters. These young populations arrive to these lands moved by a psychosocial determining factor: a “willingness to change” in their quest for living alternatives that oppose to the city-life model. The original inhabitants of those rural villages label them as “hippies.” This work is based on a cultural approach and it is carried out in the context of an ethnographic research studying the social relationships in rural communities impacted by the urban migration. We propose a reflection on the logical currents that make the actors —young urban migrants and “local folks” which coexist in one single territory— identify, label, categorize, and classify themselves. Finally, we analyze the outcomes and impacts on the methodology of community organization.
