Recursos hídricos y aprovechamiento de la cuenca del río Miriñay, provincia de Corrientes, Argentina

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es analizar los recursos hídricos en la cuenca del rio Miriñay entre los años 1991 y 2010, en relación con las obras de represamiento, observar su evolución de e identificar el área de mayor servicio dentro de la cuenca. Se trabajó con estadísticas hidrológicas y climáticas y con fuentes cartográficas y bibliográficas varias. Para la identificación de presas se emplearon imágenes satelitales Landsat 5. En el periodo considerado, el crecimiento numérico y superficial de las presas fue sostenido y paulatinamente se desarrollaron obras de mayor magnitud superficial. Todas las subcuencas componentes de la cuenca del río Miriñay, a excepción de la subcuenca del arroyo Curuzu Cuatiá, presentan obras de represamiento, aunque las de Ayuí, Ayuí Grande y Yaguarí estan mucho más aprovechadas que otras.

The objective of this paper was to analyze the use of water resources (dams) in the Miriñay river basin between 1991 and 2010, observe their evolution and to identify the area with the most concentration of dams in the basin. The materials used were: hydrological and climatic statistics, cartographic and bibliographic sources. For the identification of dams we used satellite images (Landsat 5). Results: in the period considered the numerical and superficial growth of the dams was sustained and continued. We also observed a gradual development of the biggest dams. In all sub-basins of Miriñay river, with the exception of the Curuzu Cuatia sub basin, there are dams; although some of these areas are much more utilized than others, for example the Ayuí, Ayuí and Yaguarí Grande sub basins.
