Simone de Beauvoir: de la fenomenología del cuerpo a la utopía de la libertad

Abstract

Este trabajo busca establecer una lectura situada de El segundo sexo como una herencia común para las feministas. He revisado el texto en su lengua original y he realizado un seguimiento de varias interpretaciones académicas en procura de respuesta a las tensiones que lo habitan. Uno de esos recurrentes dilemas es la tensión entre la fenomenología del cuerpo y la utopía de la libertad. Desde el punto de vista de Beauvoir el cuerpo de las mujeres es la clave de su sujeción. Por eso piensa que es en sus cuerpos que ellas deben edificar su libertad haciendo de su sujeción un asunto político. En 1948 Beauvoir se preguntaba cómo atravesar el camino de la emancipación sin caer en el destino reservado a las mujeres. Ella deja de lado las opciones que denomina justificaciones: no es por la vía del amor o de la mística que las mujeres conquistarán su libertad. Es transitando el camino de la fraternidad, luchando contra la tortura, el hambre,el colonialismo y la sujeción ejercida sobre sus cuerpos como mujeres que alcanzarán la libertad. En esta vía Beauvoir procura por experiencias y nuevos horizontes, trabaja en persecución de un sueño fraternal en el cual todos los seres humanos puedan ser incluidos, aún las mujeres y las llamadas mujeres.

This work aims to establish a located reading to The Second Sex as a common feminist heritage. I have revisited the original text and many academic interpretations looking for the answers to the tensions that inhabit it. One of the recurrent dilemmas is the tension between the phenomenology of the body and the utopia of the liberty. From the Beauvoir's viewpoint the women?s body is the key of her subjection. So, she thinks that it is in their bodies that they must build the side of their liberty making their subjection a political issue. In 1949 De Beauvoir asked herself how to travel from the emancipation without falling in the lane reserved for women's destiny. She rules out the options that she name ?justifications?: not the loving nor the mystic road. It is in Fraternity that she thinks women will find the way of Liberty. Fighting against torture, hunger, colonialism and the subjection exerted on our bodies as women. In this way she looks for experiences, she open new horizons, she works on the pursuer of the fraternal dream where all the human beings: women, human beings called women or living in a woman body,will be included.
