Segregación Residencial en tiempos de Post-Convertibilidad Una aproximación cuantitativa a una ciudad intermedia Argentina (Neuquén, 2001-2010)

Abstract

El presente trabajo busca estudiar la tendencia que asumió la segregación en la ciudad de Neuquén para el periodo comprendido entre 2001 y 2010. Con estas coordenadas espaciales y temporales en mente, se propone un recorrido que consta de tres momentos claramente diferenciados. En una primera sección se realizará una breve aproximación a la idea de segregación, sondeando posibles vías para medirla utilizando la información provista por los censos nacionales de 2001 y 2010. Luego, en un segundo apartado, describiremos el contexto que funcionó como escenario del fenómeno que pretendemos explicar. Bucearemos allí en torno a los efectos económicos y sociales de régimen de acumulación inaugurado luego de la salida de la convertibilidad. Por último, se presentarán los resultados obtenidos en el análisis las desigualdades territoriales que atravesaron la ciudad durante el periodo seleccionado. En todo este itinerario, a fin de enriquecer nuestra aproximación a los fenómenos que las fuentes censales ponen en evidencia, hemos elaborado cartografías temáticas a partir de la utilización de Sistemas de Información Geográfica y realizado un aprovechamiento intensivo de documentación periodística.

This work aims to study the trend that segregation took in the city of Neuquén for the period between 2001 and 2010. With these spatial and temporal coordinates in mind, we propose a route that consists of three clearly differentiated moments. In the first section we present a brief approach to the idea of segregation, showing possible ways to measure it using the information provided by the national censuses of 2001 and 2010. Then, in a second section, we describe the context that served as the scenario for the phenomenon we are trying to explain. We will dive around the economic and social effects of the accumulation regime that started after Argentina terminated its currency convertibility scheme. Finally, we present the results obtained in the analysis of the territorial inequalities across the city during the period of interest. In order to enrich our approach to the phenomena that census sources show, we develop thematic maps based on the use of Geographic Information Systems and an intensive use of journalistic documentation.
