Cueto o el nonsense: Versiones del crítico

Abstract

Este trabajo presenta una lectura de los ensayos de Sergio Cueto sobre el nonsense a partir del modo en que se configura en ellos el movimiento de la resistencia a/de la teoría (de Man 1990). Se propone la hipótesis de que estos ensayos críticos ponen de manifiesto una teoría en obra del arte del nonsense, en tanto que actúan o ensayan la pregunta sobre la posibilidad/imposibilidad de teorizar sobre el problema. Es allí donde la teoría falla, se niega o se ausenta, que el esfuerzo de teorización triunfa. La lógica de la resistencia a/de la teoría se estructura en estos textos, ensayísticamente, como una más de las versiones del nonsense. El trabajo busca mostrar, además, el giro que introduce la versión del crítico respecto de otras lecturas canónicas y actuales, como las de Chesterton y Aira, en su esfuerzo ético por preservar la irreductibilidad de la imaginación nonsensical.

This paper presents a reading of Sergio Cueto's essays on nonsense from the point of view of the resistance to/of theory (De Man). It is hypothesized that these critical essays reveal a theory in-the-making of nonsense art, since they act or essay the question about the possibility / impossibility of theorizing about the problem. It is precisely when theory fails, denies itself or is absent, that the theorizing effort triumphs. The logic of the resistance to/of theory is structured in these texts in an essayistic way, as one more of the versions of nonsense. The work also seeks to show the turn introduced by the critic's version of other readings, canonical and current, such as Chesterton’s and Aira’s, in their ethical effort to preserve the irreducibility of nonsensical imagination.
