Culturas en contacto: La circulación y la recepción en contextos supranacionales

Abstract

Proponemos, en primer lugar, que el campo donde cabe situarestas negociaciones culturales que emergen de los contactos serían losestudios de las relaciones culturales, aunque ya no internacionales (es muyimportante recalcarlo), sino supranacionales, globales o transnacionales.Los tres conceptos no son conmutables ya que aluden a interpretacionesdiferentes de fenómenos que se alejan del paradigma del estado-nación.

This paper aims to address the study of the cultural field in which the symbolic exchanges take place, especially those that have led to diffusion processes – the receiving and alteration of intangibles such as ideas, formal devices, writing techniques, artistic styles in contexts that transcend national cultures. The questions taken up here involve the dynamics produced in the relations between European and Latin American cultures in different periods: during the colonial period up until the republics of the nineteenth century, or in the heyday of modernism and the avant-garde of the twentieth century. These questions involve by taking on some knotty problems in which circulations and contacts with higher intensity can be detected.
