Una historia de la casona vieja de la Villa de la Merced, departamento Paclín, Provincia de Catamarca.

Abstract

Existe una indisoluble relación entre la creación del Departamento Paclín en la Provincia de Catamarca, la Villa de La Merced y la familia Figueroa.Este trabajo tiene como finalidad dar a conocer parte de esos vínculos y relaciones, contextualizadas dentro de la imponente casa que albergó a dicha familia, siendo sus dueños Wilfrido Figueroa y Domitila Tapia. Fue en esta casa donde se tomaron no solo algunas de las decisiones que marcarían el rumbo del Departamento, sino también el lugar de las vivencias familiares típicas de finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX.Mediante un exhaustivo análisis bibliográfico y una entrevista no estructurada a una de las bisnietas del dueño, pretendemos acercarnos a parte de la historia reciente del Departamento.

There is an indissoluble connection between the creation of the Paclín Department in the Catamarca Province, the Villa de La Merced and Figueroa family. This paper aims to present these connections and relationships, contextualized within the imposing house that is home to this family, with their owners Wilfrido Figueroa and Domitila Tapia. It was in this house where they took not only some of the decisions that marked the course of the Department but also, a place of family experiences of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Through a comprehensive literature review and an unstructured interview with one of the granddaughter of the owner, we intend to present part of the Department's recent history.
