Frontera agropecuaria y territorio en el noreste de Argentina: su avance y ordenamiento en la provincia de Formosa

Abstract

Este artículo aborda el vínculo entre el avance de la frontera agropecuaria y la presión sobre el territorio continente de suelos con potencial agropecuario en la provincia de Formosa (noreste de Argentina) y la lucha por el territorio protagonizada por los pueblos indígenas. Reseñamos, primeramente, las características del agro formoseño, con especial énfasis en la porción oriental de la provincia. Luego, analizamos el Programa de Ordenamiento Territorial de los Ambientes Rurales de la provincia de Formosa en sus conceptos fundamentales. Avanzamos, por último, sobre los términos de la inclusión de los pueblos indígenas en este programa y las implicancias de su aplicación en relación con sus territorios.

This article approaches the relation between the advance of the agricultural frontier and the pressure on the territory with agricultural potential in the province of Formosa (northeastern Argentina) and the struggle for territory carried out by indigenous people. We first describe the characteristics of the agro in Formosa, with special emphasis on the eastern portion of the province. Then, we analyze the Program of Territorial Planning of the Rural Environments of the province of Formosa in its fundamental concepts. Finally, we turn to the terms of the inclusion of indigenous people in this program and the implications of its application in relation to their territories.
