Análisis de la incidencia del cáncer por departamento en la provincia de Córdoba-Argentina (2004-2008): tasas de incidencia y detección de conglomerados espaciales

Abstract

En Argentina, el cáncer es la primera causa de muerte entre 35 y 74 años de edad. El análisis de ladistribución espacial del cáncer, utilizando la metodología de los Sistemas de InformaciónGeográfica, da una nueva perspectiva de la enfermedad. El objetivo de la presente investigación esanalizar la distribución espacial de la incidencia del cáncer en la Provincia de Córdoba, intentandoidentificar conglomerados de tumores. Los datos de morbilidad provienen del registro de tumoresde la provincia de Córdoba en el quinquenio 2004-2008. Los conglomerados se detectan mediante elprograma SaTScan. Se obtuvieron conglomerados significativos para distintos tipos de tumoresmalignos, destacándose los de los órganos respiratorios y digestivos. Este trabajo representa unaporte al conocimiento de la distribución espacial de la incidencia de los tumores en la provincia deCórdoba. La coincidencia de la ubicación espacial de los conglomerados encontrados, resalta laimportancia de continuar profundizando los estudios sobre la distribución de esta enfermedad y susfactores de influencia.

In Argentina, cancer is the leading cause of death between 35 and 74 years old. The analysis of the spatial distribution of cancer, using the methodology of GIS gives a new perspective on the disease. The objective of this research is to analyze the spatial distribution of cancer incidence in the Province of Córdoba, trying to identify clusters of tumors. Morbidity data come from the tumor registry of the province of Cordoba in the period 2004-2008. The clusters are detected by SaTScan program. Significant clusters were obtained for different types of malignant tumors, especially the respiratory and digestive organs. This work represents a contribution to the knowledge of the spatial distribution of the incidence of tumors in the province of Cordoba. The coincidence of the spatial location of the clusters found, they highlighted the importance of further deepening the studies on the distribution of this disease and its influencing factors.
