La Escuela Técnica de Fruticultura de San Rafael: una experiencia educativa en la micro-región del sur de Mendoza a mediados del siglo XX (Argentina)

Abstract

El presente trabajo se centra en la escala micro-regional, específicamente las propuestas educativas para el sur de Mendoza durante el primer peronismo. Tras una breve reseña del contexto educativo más amplio -nacional y provincial- y de un panorama de la educación técnico-agrícola en etapas previas, se procedió al estudio de experiencias específicas como fue la escuela de Fruticultura de San Rafael-de jurisdicción provincial- y de la escuela de Agricultura y Ganadería del mismo departamento, bajo jurisdicción del Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería de la Nación. Se destaca en este trabajo la participación de los ingenieros agrónomos en la dirección de los establecimientos educativos como así también en la puesta en práctica modalidades de difusión como fueron las de tipo extensivas para el municipio estudiado.

During the first Peronism (1946-1955), the training of rural youth was seen as essential to improve the standard of living of the workers, establishing people in the countryside and increasing production. The training was directed to the specific economic characteristics of each zone, preparing the learner not only for personal progress but also for that of the region. In this context, we propose to study some technical-agricultural teaching experiences in the province of Mendoza (Argentina) in the middle of the XX century, specifically in the micro-region of the south and through an agricultural school of provincial jurisdiction such as the Fruticulture Technical School of San Rafael. We address the productive orientation it followed, the profile of its students, the possibilities of its operation, as well as the results obtained in the training of human resources. In addition, we seek to understand the role of the national government through its schools and other training forms.
