A new species of sea anemone from the SouthwestAtlantic is described, Botryon lisandroi sp. nov. It is a conspicuous, but scarce species that inhabits the Argentineancoast of Patagonia. Males of thegenus Botryon possess botryoidal clusters, which are a gametogenictissue structure that is unique among actiniarians.
