Resignificaciones del concepto de campo de Pierre Bourdieu: El curanderismo y el campo terapéutico

Abstract

El presente artículo analiza la práctica del curanderismo a la luz del concepto teórico de campo de Pierre Bourdieu. Con este fin, se sitúa a la práctica terapéutica del curanderismo urbano de la ciudad del Gran San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina dentro de un campo de fuerzas desiguales al que se denomina campo terapéutico. Allí se observan las relaciones y tensiones que establece con la práctica terapéutica hegemónica de la biomedicina. Asimismo, el concepto de estrategia se erige en complemento del término campo porque nos permite comprender las expresiones de los curanderos, tanto las legitimadoras de su hacer terapéutico como las deslegitimadoras del hacer terapéutico de otros.

This article discusses the practice of popular healing into the light of Pierre Bour- dieu's theoretical concept of field. To this end, It´s located the therapeutic practice of the urban popular healing of the city San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina wi- thin a field of unequal forces that we called therapeutic field.There, we analyze the relations and tensions that keep with the hegemonic therapeutic practice of bio- medicine. Also, the concept of strategy becomes a complement to the term of field because it allows us to understand the expressions of healers, both the legitimating of its therapeutic practice as delegitimizing the therapeutic practice of others.
