Indicios e hipótesis sobre la presencia boroga en las fuentes de Veinticinco de Mayo durante la organización estatal argentina

Abstract

El manuscrito aborda las dificultades teóricometodológicas vinculadas al estudio de la agencia boroga en las dinámicas de las fronteras de Pampa y nor-Patagonia, a través de las fuentes creadas durante la organización y el despliegue estatal argentino (segunda mitad siglo XIX). ¿Cómo analizar a la luz de este tipo de recursos documentales las formas históricas de una subalternidad atravesada por elementos étnicos, políticos y económicos? Específicamente, trata dos cuestiones: 1. los límites y alcances de una reconstrucción de los comportamientos y representaciones borogas a partir de fuentes creadas “desde arriba” y 2. las conexiones de las posiciones y atributos de los actores en el espacio social con la apreciación que hicieron de ellos las fuentes.

This article analyzes theoretical and methodological problems in the study of Boroga agency in the border zone between the Pampas and northern Patagonia through sources dating from the construction of the Argentine state in the second half of the 19th century. The problem lies in how to analyze, in light of these types of documentary resources, a historical subordination crosscut by ethnic, political and economic issues. Specifically, the text addresses two issues: (1) the possibilities and limitations of reconstructing Boroga behavior and representations through sources created from above; and (2) the connections between the positions and attributes of the actors in social space and how they were evaluated in these sources.
