El problema habitacional y su evolución reciente en la Región Metropolitana Buenos Aires: avances y retrocesos entre 2001 y 2010

Abstract

En el presente artículo se ofrece una contribución a los estudios de la problemática habitacional en la región metropolitana de Buenos Aires y su evolución reciente. En el trabajo se estima el déficit habitacional mediante las fuentes de información de los censos de 2001 y 2010, se caracteriza la evolución de la población con necesidades de vivienda a partir de su situación habitacional y se analiza la distribución territorial de los hogares con déficit habitacional. Se pone en evidencia que las mejorías habitacionales ocurridas durante el período 2001-2010 no se materializaron de forma homogénea tanto en el conjunto de los hogares con déficit habitacional como tampoco en el conjunto del territorio. Si bien un análisis general sugiere una leve mejora durante el último decenio, al momento de descomponer los datos y desagregarlos espacialmente se observa el agravamiento de situaciones habitacionales en varios territorios y franjas de la población.

This article aims to contribute to the studies of housing problems in the Buenos Aires Metropolis and its recent evolution. In the work, an estimation of the housing deficit is made through the sources of information of the census of 2001 and 2010, it is characterized the evolution of the population with housing needs based on their housing situation and the settlement patterns are analyzed and territorial distribution of households with housing deficit in the metropolitan region. The article it shows that the housing improvements that occurred during the period 2001-2010 did not materialize in a homogeneous way in all the households with housing deficit, and did not materialize in the entire territory of the metropolitan region. Although a general perspective and analysis suggest a slight improvement during the last decade, when the data are disaggregated territorially, the aggravation of housing situations in several territories and population bands is observed.
