Los avatares del Mercosur en la crisis internacional

Abstract

Con la crisis internacional, los países del Mercosur implementaron restricciones que afectan al proceso de integración. No obstante, los problemas del bloque no son nuevos ni derivados de la crisis, sino que se arrastran desde el abandono del neoliberalismo. La integración, concebida como parte del andamiaje neoliberal, perdió su eje estructurante. Pero, a pesar de ello, la intensidad del vínculo comercial y político creció en los últimos años. Por eso, se propone el análisis de la real dimensión de la crisis de las relaciones al interior del Mercosur, enfatizando el vínculo entre Argentina y Brasil. Los procesos internos, en el vínculo intrarregional, continúan teniendo más influencia que el crítico contexto internacional. Pero, algunas estrategias para enfrentar las consecuencias de la crisis afectaron al comercio bilateral, a pesar de su expansión. De allí la necesidad de reflexionar sobre las bases para una transformación del proceso de integración regional.

With the international crisis, the countries in the Mercosur have implemented restrictions that affect the integration process. However, the problems of the bloc are not new and do not derive from this crisis; they have instead been around since neoliberalism was abandoned.The integration, conceived as part of the neoliberal scaffolding, has lost its structural axis. Nonetheless, in spite of that, the intensity of the commercial and political bond has grown in the past few years. Hence, we seek to analyze the real dimension of the crisis of the relationships in the Mercosur, emphasizing the link between Argentina and Brazil.The internal processes in the intraregional links keep having more influence than the critical international context. Nevertheless, some strategies to confront the consequences of the crisis have affected the bilateral trade despite its expansion.Thus, it is necessary to make some reflections on the bases for a transformation of the process of regional integration.
