Transición energética en Argentina y Brasil: matriz básica y fuentes renovables

Abstract

El trabajo analiza el lugar de las energías renovables en la matriz energética general de la Argentina y Brasil, así como la potencialidad que contienen. Asimismo, caracteriza la política de Estado y de otros actores significativos, a la luz de las proyecciones energéticas futuras. La hipótesis central sostiene que en los últimos años, a pesar de haber intentado diversificar la matriz primaria de producción, ninguno de los dos países sudamericanos ha incorporado decisivamente lineamientos propios de una “transición energética”, esto es, el pasaje hacia sociedades energéticamente autosostenibles. Debido a ello, el autor postula que es preciso asumir una transformación profunda acerca de la forma en cómo se concibe la energía en la región.

The aim of the present work is to review the place of renewable energy in the overall energetic matrix of Argentina and Brazil, as well as the potential they contain. Furthermore, it characterizes the state policy and other significant actors, considering future energy projections. The central hypothesis is that in recent years, in spite of the diversification of the primary production matrix, none of the two South American countries have incorporated in a decisive way guidelines for an "energy transition", i.e., the passage towards energetically self-sustaining societies. Because of this, the author postulates the need for a profound transformation in the way in which energy is conceived in the region.
